SUMMARY:Soft Toy Taxidermy | School Holiday Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Create a wonderfully weird creature and display it like a museum specimen! \nIn this fun\, hilarious and imaginative workshop\, children will transform ordinary soft toys into extraordinary creatures using creativity\, construction skills and a little bit of artistic mischief! \nParticipants will design and build their own unique soft toy creature using a range of toys\, fabrics\, accessories and embellishments. Add extra limbs\, tails\, horns\, wings\, eyes and other surprising features to create a one-of-a-kind character. \nOnce complete\, each creature will be mounted onto a display frame\, just like a curious specimen in a natural history museum. The result is a quirky artwork that’s equal parts sculpture\, storytelling and imagination. \nThis workshop encourages creative thinking\, design skills\, problem-solving and character development while introducing participants to the playful contemporary art practice of soft toy taxidermy. \n  \n\nWhat to bring: \n· All materials supplied\n· Bring your own soft toy if you’d like to give an old favourite a new life\n· No sewing experience needed\n· Mount your creature on a display frame to take home and hang on the wall \nTake home a truly unique artwork! \n  \n\nEVENT INFORMATION \nDate: Wednesday 8th July \nTime: 10.30am -12.30pm \nCost: $34 – $39 per participant \nAge: Recommended for ages 10+. Children aged 6–9 years are welcome with a parent or guardian assisting throughout the workshop. \nPlease note: Hot glue guns will be used during this activity.
