DESCRIPTION:With a background in classical piano and psychology\, Sydney based artist Michael Simms is intrigued by the interconnection of the senses – how rhythm can become gesture\, or sound can take shape as colour and form – allowing the visual and sonic to inform one another. Stages is an ongoing series of portraits by Simms\, honouring performers whose work spans music\, theatre\, dance and performance art.
